Following My Heart

Following My Heart completes a trilogy of albums begun in 2004, yet this work is a beginning, a move toward new and ever-expanding vistas for me personally as a composer and musician. The music was written during the summer of 2009, near the end of an annus horribilis which saw the deaths of my mother, two of my closest friends, an uncle, other family members and long-time family friends, and friends of friends.
In my journey from darkness to light, I’ve often wondered if i would ever be able to find myself — or the music — again. This CD is the result of that journey, and I hope that in some small way it may bring peace, joy, and healing to those who seek it.
Following My Heart contains 14 newly-composed tracks and features several guest artists: percussionist Ken Battat, bassist Sid Fendley, and accordionist Dan Wright. Composed, performed and produced by Jane Ellen (ASCAP).

Flowers in Winter

The holiday CD Flowers in Winter is still available for digital download, but has just been re-released in a limited jewel box edition available exclusively from the artist! This recording features 12 seasonal selections – six originals (including ‘Prayer for Peace’) and six arrangements of traditional Christmas carols. Percussionist Ken Battat is guest artist on two selections, ‘Good King Wenceslaus’ and ‘God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen’. Composed/arranged, performed and produced by Jane Ellen (ASCAP).

Seasons of the Heart

Seasons of the Heart, my second CD, is also still available. This recording features 16 new piano compositions including the popular ‘Summer in Grace Road’, ‘November Rain’ and ‘Promise of Spring’; friends Ken Battat (Latin percussion) and Sid Fendley (electric bass) join me for the song ‘My Gipsy Heart’. From My Heart

My first CD, a solo piano recording entitled From My Heart, is still available. This album is a compilation of 16 piano compositions written over a ten year period, and contains the ever popular trilogy of Celtic-flavoured pieces, ‘An Irish Shamrock’ as well as the piano solo version of ‘Glorieta’, the theme for The Man Who Lost the Civil War.
